The Indian culture, the culture in Asia at large perhaps is considered – Honour and Shame driven culture. The decisions are made based on enhancing honour and eliminating shame. What is ''right and just' are not the criteria by which evaluations and decisions are made. It is honorable to be rich, but it should be smart. If the person is caught, it is a ‘shame’.

India welcomed Independence from the British in 1947. The nation experienced a sense of patriotism and liberty from the British hegemony that prevailed over two centuries. There was no ruling of the foreigners anymore, and no limitations on freedom for indigenous expression of culture, language, traditions and practices. India was free at last!
Love and hate inspires, excites, calls people to be dynamic, daring, take risks and is also contagious. Leaders often choose ‘hate’ as the easiest option to mobilize people. It is easy to make people ‘hate’ rather than ‘love’.
